Mumbai has been no stranger to heavy rains this monsoon, and as of 26th August, the city is still under the monsoon’s persistent grip.

For days, locals have been navigating waterlogged streets, delayed trains, and the usual chaos that comes with heavy rainfall.

The wet spell began with very heavy rainfall on 25th August, leaving many areas in the city struggling with overflowing drains and traffic snarls.

From low-lying localities to busy commercial streets, Mumbai felt the full force of the monsoon that day.

26th August: No Let-up in Sight

Today, 26th August, heavy rain continues at isolated places across Mumbai. Residents are advised to stay cautious while travelling, as waterlogging and traffic jams are expected in several areas. The skies remain overcast, with monsoon clouds refusing to move away anytime soon.

What to Expect in the Coming Days

The India Meteorological Department predicts that the city will see heavy rainfall at isolated places on 27th August as well, followed by moderate rain on 28th August. By 29th August, isolated pockets may again experience heavy rainfall.

Overall, Mumbaikars should brace themselves for continued wet conditions over the next few days.

Amidst this prolonged monsoon, it’s important to stay updated on weather alerts, avoid unnecessary travel, and take precautions against waterborne diseases.

With heavy rain at isolated places expected to continue, umbrellas, raincoats, and patience remain Mumbai’s best allies.

The city that never sleeps is currently under the monsoon’s spell. While rains bring relief from the heat, they also test the resilience of Mumbaikars. For now, it seems Mumbai’s love affair with the rain is far from over.
