Diwali is not only a festival of lights and joy, but also a symbol of our culture and traditions. Decorating homes and surroundings, lighting lamps, and exchanging sweets are common on this day. However, many people, in the excitement of Diwali, make mistakes that can impact their health, wealth, and family happiness. Therefore, it's important to pay special attention to certain things on this auspicious occasion.

Astrologer Akhilesh Pandey said that Diwali is a festival of joy, light, and positive energy. It's crucial to observe small precautions while celebrating. Moderation in the use of firecrackers, adherence to rules in cleanliness and worship, balance in sweets and shopping, and prudence in financial matters bring happiness and prosperity to every home. When we keep these things in mind, Diwali will not only be joyful but also safe for our families, society, and the environment.
1. Excessive bursting of firecrackers
Bursting firecrackers is part of the joy of Diwali, but bursting too many firecrackers increases noise and air pollution. This can be irritating to children and the elderly. There's also the risk of fire. Therefore, always practice safety precautions and only burn firecrackers in open spaces, in limited quantities.
2. Haste in financial matters
Diwali is considered a festival of wealth and Lakshmi. On this day, people make new investments, purchases, and transactions. However, making major financial decisions without careful consideration can prove detrimental. Try to make major investments or transactions after Diwali and limit this day to puja and symbolic shopping.
3. Negligence in home cleaning and worship
Cleaning and decorating the house is essential to receive the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi. However, many people neglect this. The Goddess is not pleased with filth and clutter. Clean the house thoroughly before Diwali, remove old and unused items, and prepare puja materials in advance.
4. Excessive consumption of sweets and fried foods
While consuming sweets and delicious dishes is natural on Diwali, overeating can be detrimental to health. Eating too much sugar or oily food can lead to stomach problems and weight gain. People with diabetes and gastric problems should be especially careful and eat a balanced diet.

5. Ignoring religious and social traditions
Diwali is not just a celebration; it is a symbol of tradition and devotion. Things like not placing lamps in the right place, using mobile phones during puja, or disturbing others diminish the positivity of the festival. Therefore, respect your culture and traditions and celebrate Diwali with full devotion.
