Maharashtra News: Following the Uttar Pradesh Madrasa case, Maharashtra Minority Commission Chairman Pyare Khan ordered an investigation into Madrasas across the state. He warned of strict action and imprisonment for suspected institutions.
A madrasa in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, demanded "virginity certificates" from female students, sparking outrage in Maharashtra. Taking the matter seriously, Pyare Khan, Chairman of the Maharashtra State Minority Commission, has ordered an investigation into minority educational institutions and madrasas in all districts of the state.
Pyare Khan said, "I witnessed the Moradabad incident in Uttar Pradesh, which is extremely shameful. Following this, I have sent a letter to all the district collectors in Maharashtra, instructing them to form a special team in each district to visit all minority schools and madrasas."

This big team will investigate madrasas.
Pyare Khan, Chairman of the Maharashtra State Minority Commission, stated that the investigation team into the Moradabad madrasa incident will include as many Child Welfare Department officials as possible to speak with the children and understand their situation. He added that they want to counsel the children to determine if similar incidents are occurring in Maharashtra.
Strict action will be taken against those found guilty.Minority Commission chief Pyare Khan said that if the investigation confirms such acts against any institution or individual, strict action will be taken against them. Any institution or individual found involved in such shameful acts will not be spared at any cost. We will directly send the directors of those institutions to jail.
Safety of children is paramount – Pyare Khan.Pyare Khan clarified that the Commission's primary objective is to protect children and safeguard their rights. Madrasas and minority institutions are centers of education and culture, and such inhumane acts are unacceptable there. The dignity and respect of children will not be compromised.
Preparations for the state-wide inspection campaignIn Maharashtra, the district administration and the Child Development Department are now launching a statewide investigation campaign. In the coming days, all madrasas and minority educational institutions will be inspected to prevent such incidents from recurring.
Social organizations and child rights activists have welcomed Pyare Khan's move, saying the investigation will not only ensure accountability but also increase transparency in minority educational institutions.
