A community has been left in shock after a man in his 60s collapsed and died outside a Spar store.
Emergency services raced to Runshaw Lane in Euxton, Lancashire, at around 7:30pm last night after the man suffered a sudden cardiac arrest outside a busy row of shops. Police and paramedics fought to save him at the scene, but despite their best efforts, he could not be revived.
He was later pronounced dead, with officers placing a cordon aound the shop as the area was taped off from the public.
Shocked residents spotted a large emergency services presence in the area and gathered nearby as the incident unfolded. One person said: "Just been by and there is a police cordon all taped off and 2 police cars blocking access from both ends into Spar."

Another wrote: "My husband tried to go to the Spar 10 minutes ago but drove to a different shop after seeing it all cordoned off with police tape".
A third said: "Spar has closed."
The man has since been named locally as Paul Cadman, sparking an outpouring of grief online.
Dozens of heartfelt tributes have described him as a "lovely man" who will be sorely missed. One said on Facebook: "Rip Paul such nice man such good memories in the Bayhorse."
Another wrote: "Such a shame he was a lovely man," while a third said: "So sad top guy." Another added: "RIP Paul, my condolences to his family"
Lancashire Police later confirmed the incident in a statement, saying: "We were called at 7.30pm yesterday (September 21) by the North West Ambulance Service to Runshaw Lane, Euxton, to a report a man had been found unresponsive.
"The man, aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital but despite the best efforts of medical personnel, was very sadly pronounced deceased.
"Our thoughts are with his family at this distressing time. His death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared in due course for HM Coroner."
