Amazon customers have been rushing to buy a pair of hair straighteners under £20 that have had their price slashed by 32%. The Remington S3500 Ceramic Hair Straighteners have been reduced from £28 to £19, with beauty enthusiasts praising the styling device online and even likening them to premium brands.
One review states: "This is the second time I have bought these exact straighteners. Honestly no need for the big expensive brands, these are excellent. Compact, brilliant heat control and make my hair so sleek. They can also be used to create beautiful waves. Couldn't recommend highly enough!".
This customer wasn't alone in being wowed by the styling device, as the product has currently gathered more than 11,000 reviews on the online marketplace – 2,300 of them with glowing 5-star feedback.
Another reviewer noted: "The reviews seemed good and it was on sale so I thought why not give it a go."
They added: "I was shocked and impressed at how good they are! My hair straightened quickly with a lovely smooth finish that lasted, they are just as good as ghd so I'm really glad I got them."
The hair device boasts anti-static, smooth glide coated plates. This enables the gadget to deliver four times more protection, boost extra shine and reduce static compared to standard ceramic coating. Boasting a rapid 15 second warm-up period, the styling tool also features a convenient 150-230C temperature range with a 30-setting adjustable dial.

If that wasn't impressive enough, for £19, shoppers can also benefit from the device's 110mm extended length floating plates. This allows users to straighten larger sections of hair in a single pass while also keeping it mark-free. The straighteners have also been made with universal voltage for optimal performance when travelling, and include a heat resistant pouch and a plate lock mechanism.
Despite the wave of praise for the device online, it's worth mentioning that one customer felt the product might not suit those with thick hair.
They said: "This was my first purchase of hair straighteners. To be honest, I don't have much time for hair care - I like to wash and go. However, now and then it's nice to spend a bit more time getting ready. I've found the straighteners do work but on my long, fine but thick hair they take ages to get the job done.... perhaps this is normal and I'm just too impatient?".
Other hair straighteners currently discounted include the ghd Original Hair Straightener, which has been reduced at Look Fantastic. Previously £139, the beauty device is now just under £114. One customer commented: "Perfect performance from GHD as always. No snagging from the first go. Design is so nostalgic from my originals a very many few years ago."
Another alternative from Boots is the Remington Shine Therapy S8500 Hair Straightener, which has a massive £51 reduction. Slashed from £79 to £27, the hair styling tool has gathered over 1,000 reviews.
