A luxury train ride costs quite a bit to experience, but is definitely worth journey. Not only do they enhance travel, but the trip itself can become a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Research by Japan Rail Pass has identified the world's best luxury train rides, with three of them located right here in the UK.
The team analysed Tripadvisor reviews, Instagram hashtags and global search volumes to compile their results. They discovered that Canada's Rocky Mountaineer topped the list, boasting an impressive 54,029 Instagram hashtags, reports the Express.

The train ride, which operates four routes in British Columbia, Alberta, Colorado and Utah, is searched for a staggering 368,000 times per month. As the name suggests, the Rocky Mountaineer traverses some truly picturesque mountain landscapes, contributing to its popularity.
Switzerland's GoldenPass Express scored second place on the list. This route connects Montreux with Interlaken, a stunning town nestled amongst mountains in the Bernese Oberland.
GoldenPass Express received an average score of 4.5 for its service on TripAdvisor, with Japan Rail Pass giving the train an overall score of 8.39.
The 10 most luxurious train rides in the world:The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, an iconic train service that travels from London to Venice and other European cities, secured the seventh spot on the list. This private luxury train service comes with a hefty price tag, with fares starting from £3,530 per person.
In eighth place is the British Pullman, based in England. This unique train journey allows passengers to explore the English countryside in all its glory. The British Pullman offers travellers the opportunity to enjoy lunch, afternoon tea or even take in shows aboard the carriage.
According to Google Reviews, the service boasts an impressive 4.7 rating, with prices starting from £340 per person.
Finally, in ninth place is The Royal Scotsman, a luxury train service in Scotland. This train takes passengers on a journey through the stunning beauty of the Scottish Highlands. Prices start from £5,750 for a cabin priced per person.
