Emmerdale viewers are convinced they've figured out who will discover Mackenzie Boyd in the bunker, following the shocking revelation that he's still alive.
Mackenzie, played by Lawrence Robb, was last seen on the popular soap being pursued through the woods by clandestine murderer John Sugden, portrayed by Oliver Farnworth.
Just moments prior, Mack had deduced that John was responsible for the murder of Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter) last year, whose body was subsequently discarded in a lake.
In a desperate bid to prevent Mack from escaping, a nail-biting confrontation ensued in the woods, during which John shot Mack with a crossbow bolt that pierced his chest.
Despite being injured but still breathing, Mack found himself cornered by John, who picked up a large rock and hurled it at him, seemingly ending Mack's life, reports the Daily Star.
Later on, back in the village, audiences were shown what appeared to be Mack's body, concealed under a blanket in the rear of his van, with blood dripping and flies swarming around it. John aroused further suspicion among viewers when he concealed something in the woods.
John has since taken a short holiday with his husband Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), staying in a cottage. However, in a surprising twist during Friday's episode (August 29), it was disclosed that the cottage is actually John's childhood home.
Subsequently, John was spotted venturing into the woods before entering a hidden bunker underground. In a dramatic turn of events, it was unveiled that Mackenzie is indeed alive and is currently held captive in the secret bunker.
Emmerdale viewers are convinced they've figured out who will discover Mack. On a dedicated Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one viewer exclaimed: "I knew it! ! Just knew Mack was still alive! !".
In the comments section, fans speculated that Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) might be the one to find him, given his recent departure from the village and current residence in the countryside in his car.
One fan penned: "Let's hope Bear whose living n the woods finds him." Another chimed in: "I forgot that bear was living in his car around the woods too. Ooo hes definitely got to come across him. This John storyline is beginning to wear thin now." A third agreed: "I totally agree."
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
