Gardeners can get a seed advent calendar for free with little-known deal

Gardeners are now in luck as they can get a range of their favourite seeds and products for free with a new deal. Now, with the help of TopCashback, the Verve Shelter Seed advent calendar, which is usually £15 from B&Q, can be snagged for free.

How this works is, for new members signing up to TopCashback and all customers of B&Q, they can receive £15 cashback which then essentially makes it free.

As a perfect gift for the festive season, the calendar offers 24 doors which contain sachets of seeds from 'vibrant flowers' to 'flavour-packed herbs and fresh vegetables'. According to the website, everything needed to grow the seeds is also included, such as a grow house, soil tablets for easy planting and plant tags to keep track of seedlings.

The 24 seed varities include: carrot, lettuce, courgette, pea, runner bean, beetroot, onion, spring onion, cucumber, sweetcorn, spinach, pumpkin, cress, basil, flat-leaf parsley, coriander, mint, sunflower, marigold, nasturtium, cosmos, zinnia, sweet pea and poppy. This set makes it a perfect gift alternative from the typical chocolate advent calendars and is said to appeal to all, including kids, adults and families.

The Range also has its Vegetable Bumper Seeds 10 Pack available for as little as £9.50 on its website. This has a selection of vegetables available from tomatoes to cucumbers and is said to be 'easy to grow and maintain'.

Amazon also has its Grow Your Own Vegetable Seeds - 20 Packet Variety by Garden Pack available for £8.99. This offers 20 vegetable seed types, including lettuce, cucumber, tomato, carrot, onion, and more.

On B&Q, one shopper said about the advent calendar: "I bought this product for my uncle as a Christmas present, he is a very keen gardener and this an appropriate gift." Another said on Ideal Home: "What really wowed me, though, was what's inside the hidden 25th door. It's actually on the bottom side of the advent calendar, where you'll slide out a complete grow house, two soil tablets and a collection of plant labels on Christmas day. Talk about saving the best till last!"

On Trustpilot, another happy customer of B&Q said: "Great value for money and excellent selection of hardware; gardening; houseware and all DIY necessities." Some others left some more critical comments, however.

One person said on Trustpilot: "We planned and purchased our kitchen with B&Q. We had a couple of delivery problems, but they were soon sorted and our kitchen planner couldn't do enough to help us. All in all a good experience."
